The rain had been falling over night and first thing in the morning leaving our Forest School site very muddy.
In the afternoon a very excited group of children set off for their session. It was not long before a ski slope has been created and children were slipping and sliding and jumping in the mud!
Little Grange really enjoy exploring at forest school. They are accessing risk as they climb, jump and swing in the trees.
Getting muddy is very much encouraged as the children explore and experience the texture of wet, dry and sticky mud, What would you like to do?
The children from Little Roo’s Nursery enjoyed experiencing clay for the first time today. They were excited by the squidgy texture as the clay oozed out between their fingers.
One piece of clay fell into the stream, having bravely descended down the bank into the stream there came a cry……..
“Look at my hands they are a sticky!”
It was not very long before a group of children could be seen clambering down the bank, clutching their clay, once in the water the children experimented wetting their clay and squeezing it in their hands.
Children from Little Roo’s Nursery came to Holme Grange for their first experience of Forest School today.
They explored and exclaimed, jumped and swung enjoying the freedom of the Forest setting.
13 children left excitedly looking forward to next weeks adventures!
